5K The IDEAL Way

5K the IDEAL Way • Saturday, MAY 10, 2025 • 9-11:30 AM
Our annual race, 5K The IDEAL Way, returned for the 2024-25 school year! Thanks to IDEAL parents Nina Heebink, Sammi Clifford, and Yolanda Wyns for leading the way!
On Saturday, May 10, about 50 IDEAL students, alumni, faculty, families, and friends met outside 5 Hanover Square for the fourth 5K The IDEAL Way Run, Walk, or Wheel event. Participants and sponsors raised more than $2,000 for the school. Thanks to everyone who came out on a sunny, windy Saturday to enjoy the neighborhood and camaraderie.
Thanks to our sponsors!

Trustee Fundraisers
Three fundraisers hosted by IDEAL trustees and their families raised $89,602 for our school in 2024-25. Evan Azriliant has been an IDEAL trustee since the school’s founding. He is a staunch supporter of the school’s mission, and an important part of our Gala fundraising. In July, 2024, Mr. Azriliant held his annual Yale Club Cocktail Reception fundraiser. At the event, the 14th he has hosted, Mr. Azriliant’s friends, family, and IDEAL community guests gathered for a fun evening of cocktails and conversation and raised $17,087 for our school.
Jane Providenti, mother of Troy ‘21, was an IDEAL trustee from 2019 to 2025, and Troy’s father, Anthony Providenti, was a member of the Board Advancement Committee. For more than 20 years, the Providenti family has held a fundraiser in East Hampton to raise money for LuMind, which raises funds for Down syndrome research and IDEAL, recently adding several more organizations. The annual Summer Double Dip, a fun day of swimming and mingling with a basketball tournament, has raised more than half a million dollars over the years. This year, the Summer Double Dip brought $10,000 to IDEAL.
IDEAL co-founder and vice president Mitch Rubin and his son Max ‘18, brought back An IDEAL Day of Golf this year. Held at Siwanoy Country Club, the event brings friends old and new to the historic course for 18 holes, lunch, dinner, and cocktails with a live auction. The event raised $62,515 this year, and a highlight was fellow trustee Michael Lorch and his team bringing in the best score.
