Middle School Science Expo

On Friday, February 18, the Middle School Science Expo opened, for the first time, with a keynote speaker, Dr. Leonardo Trasande, an IDEAL parent who spoke to the Middle School students and their families. Dr. Trasande is an internationally renowned leader in the field of children’s environmental health. Following his talk, Dr. Trasande took questions from the audience about topics including environmental activism, personal choices that protect individuals as well as the planet, biodegradable plastic, and he shared a tip to avoid plastic containers with numbers 3, 6, and 7. After Dr. Trasande’s talk, students Henry, Madeleine, Elijah, and Dominic shared their presentations and advisors opened their rooms to families. At the conclusion of the day, High School and Next Steps students visited the presentations. Photos from the event are in this Facebook album.
