IDEAL Arts @ SXSW EDU

On March 5, Upper School teachers Megan Roper and Will Simbol gave a presentation titled Same Same but Different: Meaningful Arts for All Abilities at the SXSW EDU Conference & Festival in Austin, TX. In the style of a conversation, the art and music teachers talked about how they developed a curriculum that connects with students across all learning profiles. They shared IDEAL student work, talked about how they identify barriers and clear the roadblock or build a bridge to help students access projects and how they work to foster a culture of creativity in the classroom community. They said how they approach needs and challenges and utilize the opportunities an IDEAL classroom provides.
