High School Community Time

Janet Wolfe and students are seated in chairs around a gym for an assembly

In the first High School Community Time meeting, Ms. Wolfe and students discussed the meaning of our schoolwide theme, Optimism, and how we can work together to create a respectful community. The students and teachers have been practicing respectful dialogue by speaking about the upcoming election, and students chose gun control as a focus area that they would like to pursue in greater depth. In the second community time this week, the group evaluated and formed new goals to contribute to a respectful community. They also discussed national statistics on bullying to prepare for their work in October, National Bullying Prevention Month, with an emphasis on self-accountability. Pictures from the meeting are in this Facebook album.
