Instruction

At The IDEAL School, teachers utilize differentiated instruction techniques to meet the needs of each student.  Differentiated instruction is a teaching philosophy that recognizes that every child is unique and that students have varying levels of background knowledge, readiness and language, as well as different learning styles, learning preferences, and interests.  Our philosophy embraces these differences and adapts instruction to accommodate each student's individuality with the goal to maximize each student's growth and individual success.

In the differentiated classroom, teachers challenge all learners appropriately as they work to master essential information, ideas, and skills. Lessons are presented with different levels of complexity and in multiple ways to meet the needs of auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners. Teachers adapt instruction to tap into students' personal interests and learning preferences.  Differentiated instruction ensures that all children have access to the curriculum, are engaged, and are making progress. It allows students to master and exhibit their skills in different ways while maintaining high academic standards. It celebrates each student's unique abilities and builds self-confidence and self-worth. Differentiation allows every student to excel and acknowledges that every learner is a worthwhile member of the school and community.
