IDEAL’s theater program equips students with the skills to be creative and compassionate leaders in our global community. All students participate in drama games and exercises that build imagination, trust, and self-confidence.

Upper School Drama
The focus for sixth grade is building an ensemble and foundational skills in acting, directing, theater literacy, play making, and design. In the older grades, students will continue to create, perform, develop understanding, and respond to theater with room for more individualized areas of study as well as cross-curricular projects. The Upper School Theater Program introduces students to theater from various contexts, allowing them to discover their own interests and passions.

Theater electives include Theater for Social Change, Playmaking, and Musical Theater. Students will also experience the incredible theater resources that New York City has to offer, including live performances, research facilities, and career opportunities. All Upper School Students have the option of participating in the spring musical.
